Missing tramper on Cascade Saddle

um yea, ok Norm. Maybe you should check with Mal Haskings, Paul Hersey, Pat Deavoll or some other kiwi climbers with Himalayan experience about insurance before you summit your next 8000er. I personally havent climbed outside of NZ, but for snowboarding, I had no problem getting insurance although they were a little uneasy about back country stuff. And for the record, as this started with tramping insurance in NZ, my life insurance covers climbing here too, up to apline grade 4! haha so I doubt they would niggle over hiking bro. Maybe its different in aussie I dont know... possibly a good new thread topic? Its been bought up alot over last few years on Mountainz. Although sorry thats about all the input I have! CHUR

Cheers Damon. This topic is a very old chetnut and a lot of ink has been spilled over it, so I guess a new thread would be a good idea........who knows, someone may have knowledge of a company that does actually issue decent cover for extreme environments???

I recall getting 2 lots of insurance for when I went climbing in Mongolia. One was from the NZAC but I also shelled out for an overseas one but that was 6 years ago and I've forgotten the details...I was probably advised by Lydia Bradey. She was our guide.
