Ruahine Hut to Shutes Hut
Anyone tramped the eastern track Ruahine to Shutes Hut?
It looks a big days walk. Any information appreciated.

Our tramping club has twice planned a trip to Shutes Hut. First time was a long up then a long down and then they couldn't cross the stream at the bottom, at the other side of which was the hut. They returned and chose an alternative route in the Kawekas.
Recently it was planned again, but there had been a fair amount of rain so the plan was changed to the Tararuas.
You can check river levels on the regional council's website now. HBRC I guess.
