Shortly after I have completed my degree in evolutionary anthropology at the University of Liverpool I will leave everything behind me and set off east with my bike and my stupidity and using nothing more than the power of my legs. Although the exact route is not known yet and will not be known until am on the road my first goal is to reach New Zealand. Although it's hard to get an estimate on how long this would take me, my guess is around 7-10 months. Once in New Zealand and after a break I then plan to walk the entire length of New Zealand (1600 km in length). After this my plan is then to get back on my bike and cycle up Patagonia all the way up to Alaska. The 3rd stage of my journey will not be decided until the time as I have plans not to live in the UK anymore. Stage 3 will be the cycle home but depending on a few factors I won't know where that is until closer to the time. www.leehughes.co.uk
