Was out for a daywalk in the Gollans stream catchment recently (N of Butterfly creek) and came across a small hut on the W ridge of the catchment. I didn't have time to check the hut out, but does anyone know anything about it?
There is a well built hut that was built and used by hunters near the forks of the butterfly creek and Gollans stream. Well hidden and off the beaten track. As far as i know the hut has now been taken over by the Butterfly creek volunteer ranger group. If its the same hut you're talking about it was built in the 60's i believe. Material was brought in by vehicle to the Park/Gollans Valley Farm boundary and then carried. Not sure if its still a locked hut but it was when i visited.
@mike99 cheers for the info.
Hey, just remembered there is one other hut more in the vicinity you mention. Was called Clendon or Boswell hut i think. Built by local families living in Totara street/ Eastbourne. Was two levels from memory pretty small and was an open. Amazed its still there as i had heard that it had burnt down.
