Red Hills Range, Cascade Valley.

My brother wishes to do some summer exploring in here, before he and I get past it...... Has anyone got comment on their experiences in here, getting up to Red Mountain? Access, times, terrain, particular difficulties....all the usual stuff, would be most helpful. I'm pushing for the Wilkin and Matukituki, so some interesting discussions ahead! Tks Gerald

I would suggest Moirs Guide North for information on this area. It's wild country.
