Possum proof bridges

    Just saw a "possum stop gate" picture in Danilo's pics. Also came across one when doing the 'Old Ghost Road'. Many years ago, whilst full moon kayaking on the Hokianga Harbour, we came across a possum vigorously swimming across where it was about 60m wide. So, my question is, will a 'stop gate' on a bridge over a small, narrow river stop the blighters?
