lake manapouri-hope arm hut to monument track

Hey guys, any idea if your able to walk directly from hope arm hut to the monument track, I have read you may be able to go around the beach and attempt to cross a river than could be impassible with a high lake. Any other options? Thanks Luke

Hi, I walked the monument from the beach when camping and kayaking on the Lake last year. I don't recall any obvious path from the summit off to the South West, towards the path towards Hope Arm Hut, and certainly a school group staying close by the hut, walking it had got a boat across to the beach.
