protocol for asking questions

I believe that courtesy and respect costs me nothing and I try to give that at all times. It doesn't always elicit a response, and I am not bothered one bit by that.

I'll reply since I figure I might be one of these fly-by-nighters.. :P Please don't discount the possibility that we have gone away to attempt the suggested excursions and haven't yet got anything to report back!! :D
