I wonder what a ticket will cost.
If its access to a tourist destination it should be reasonable say 10 - 15 each way which would compare to 1 person in 1 car going up there
If its marketed as a touristy thing in its own right $50 could be the answer and enough Japanese and Australians would still use it to make it pay Cant see many nzers though
its $30 for the qtown skyline gondola.. and thats a tiny fraction of the distance the remarkables one will be....

I personally think this is a great idea and I'd probably treat myself to a ride if it gets up and running and I'm down that way.
However theres no doubt it'll be an expensive ride thats for sure.
Cool. It's a Queenstown Think Big project that I can actually support. I've always found the idea of a circumnavigation of Lake Wakatipu appealing, this thing would fill in the biggest gap.

Even if its 50 If its coupled to a worthy discount (40?) on the chairlift its still a good deal.
It will get you up there on days the road is closed
The best thing is it would enable a Remarkables through to Wye Creek day trip without needing a shuttle bunny to get you to the top of the Remarks road. Hitch back home when you get down to SH6. Might even be able to fit that in and get back in time to pick the kids up from the primary school.

wouldnt surprise me if the cost is closer to $100. business owners only look at how much they can get away with charging. during the last recession prices went up.
$100 for a day on the skifield $100 to get there assuming thats a return. Id walk up carrying all my gear even if it meant starting at 4am and getting home at 10pm rather than pay that for a 30 to 40 minute dangle
Of course if I put the tent in I only need to do it once for a weeks skiing
