The inquest on the couple who died on Taranaki is going on this week. I've read a couple of articles and can't quite make sense of what they actually did - it sounds like they came up the east ridge, and instead of descending back down the same way, they decided to go through the crater and then down the north ridge?
And most articles mentioned they climbed up and over Shark's Tooth - is it not possible to go across the top in between the two high points (i.e. avoid climbing over Shark's Tooth altogether)?
