a mate reckons R&r sport are rebranding and making their shops torpedo7.. already you can pick up bikes ordered from torpedo 7 at r&r shops..
so the sky's the limit in what the shops could stock... i've noted some brands not stocked by torpedo 7 in the shops are running dry in the shops. their mountain equipment clothing has disappeared. they never updated to the new range thats come out.
kathmandu be afraid.... they are the only retailer that has chance of challenging them...
I was talking to some parents at the junior champs this week, they have kids who are sponsored by R&R sport, they didn't know much but I can tell you that Torpedo 7, R&R and No1 fitness are apparently all rebranding into one new entity. So I'm guessing its going to be announced then.
be interesting to see if they open more branches, and if they are close to the opposition shops like kathmandu. your average tramping shop doesnt sell cheap gear. torpedo 7 have a lot of cheaper gear especially when the sales are on.
I hope they bring in more Montbell Gear, yeah they have plenty of cheap junk but Torpedo 7 have started stocking some very nice gear. They are quickly becoming the first place I check for outdoor gear.
