I'm not a New Zealander, but at least I come from a South Island. That's Tasmania, the island down under Down Under. It's home to the best bushwalking (tramping) on the Australian side of the Tasman. After 40+ years of tramping here, there and lots of other places, I'm writing a book about my experiences and philosophy of walking. I'm always doing "field research" in NZ (eg March 2009, September 2010 and February 2012).
