Martins Bay Hut
Martins Bay Hut is a large modern hut in an amazing location overlooking the sandbar between Lake McKerrow and the sea. Whilst modern, the extensive use of timber makes this attractive hut that will hopefully age well.
This is the last hut on the Hollyford Track. For those wishing to continue, from here on it's boulder hopping for 4-8 hours along the coastline to Big Bay hut. Watch for fierce seals, which reside on the point about 1km beyond the hut!
Note: This is not the Martin's Bay Lodge shown near the airstrip on maps. That is a private lodge used by the Hollyford Track company. The DOC hut is about 2.5km further along the track near the river mouth.
