Paua Hut
Rimutaka Forest Park
Hut in the Orongorongo Valley, Rimutaka Forest Park, maintained by the Wellington Tramping and Mountaineering Club. The Paua Tramping Club was formed by members of the Shell Corporation in 1930, and built the hut in 1940. When the club folded, it transferred the hut to the care of WT&MC.

Catchpool Stream road end off the Coast Road south of Wainuiomata. Take Orongorongo Track to Turere Stream bridge, drop into the Orongorongo River and head downriver to a clay cliff on the true left. |
