Ōngāruanuku Hut

Waitakere Ranges Regional Park

Ōngāruanuku or "O'nuku" as it's known is maintained by the Auckland University Tramping Club. It was once an abandoned timber milling camp cookhouse called Simla Hut. The club took ownership of the hut and reopened it on 27 August 1944.

The hut is located to the southwest of Waitakere Reservoir in the Waitakere Ranges.
