Tailings Hut
This hut is located next to Guffies Creek in Oteake Conservation Area. The bunkrooms of Tailings Hut were constructed as quarters for workers on the Roxburgh Hydro Dam. The kitchen was built as a farm building in the 1930s.
A fireplace is available but wood is scarce.
Jan.2023: according to hutbook this hut was in a bad state (vandalism) but has been recently repaired by DOC. Good place to stay; stream nearby has some shallow swimming holes. Access from Naseby requires high-clearance 4WD (or mtb, trailbike, horse or just good legs)
