From the car park, a steep track leads up the creek's true right bank to reach flats in 2 hours. From here, swamp and scrub challenge the route. Edge around the swamp and connect with the creekbed.
A rock biv is located at the top of a lateral moraine on the true right. A second biv is located in a boulder field near the valley head on the true right. Take the stream leading down from Pyramid Peak to a lateral moraine. This leads into a boulder field. Look for the largest boulder in the field.
A small glacier and lake occupy the head of the valley under Mount Suter (2094m) and an unnamed peak (2112m). South are Pyramid (2295m) and Ngatimamoe Peaks (2164m).
