Mangatepopo Hut
Tongariro National Park
A Great Walk hut (must be booked in advance), easily accessible from the road-end. Gas heater and gas stove (in summer). Central living/cooking area with a sleeping room on each side. About 8 formed camping sites outside. The 3 hour walk in from Whakapapa is along a rough track locally known as The Ditch. Mt. Taranaki is visible above the hut in the photo.
