7 Mile Hut

This hut is on private land and both have been bought by someone who has improved access to 7 Mile Creek. Grotty old NZFS 6 bunker I think. Was gutted internally but now has had 2 bunks installed - possibly by a possum hunter who was ensconced in the early winter of 2011. No other refurbishments noted. It has additional innersprung mattresses. The magnificent road to this hut was gone when the Taipo shifted over to the true right of the valley but since then the river has shifted back to the true left so the way in has been rehabilitated and it is once again possible to drive in via 4WD.
