West Arm Hut
At the West Arm of Lake Manapouri. Also on the Dusky Track.
This hut started its life on the Percy Saddle road, above West Arm. It was originally built in the 1960’s by New Zealand Post to house telecommunications as part of the power station construction. It was relocated to West Arm in 1988 and modified for use as a basic six bunk hut. But the area surrounding the hut was developed into a carpark making the site less pleasant for hut users. In March 2007 it was relocated to a new location 15 minutes walk up the Wilmot Pass Road.
