Penn Creek
Penn Creek in the Tararua Range which flows into the Otaki River. The sidle track down the Otaki which is still marked on many maps no longer exists. The main access is the track up and over Table Top, The river is only a route. In 2010 there were 7 SAR events because of people trying to follow the river out to the forks. It's OK but be prepared

OldGoat The new maps of tha Tararuas dont have the Otaki sidle track to Penn Ck marked on them.
Thats a good reason to always have an up to date, current map with you.
Old maps have caused many a search because tramps not familiar with the area have been led up "the garden path"
