From final flat on road to Fox Ski Field, north of Fairlie. A 7km easement through pastoral lease, via a 4WD track, drops down to the conservation area. The track continues over a low saddle then enters the head of the Orari river. The hut is nestled like a cat in an armchair at the southern end of the Ben McLeod range. Alternatively, the hut may be initially accessed from a marginal strip on the true left of the North Opuha. Of course, there are other ways in requiring leaseholders permissio
