Getting there
Getting there
Over Sphinx or Jordan Saddles from the Waimakariri River, or up the Avoca River from Lake Coleridge. Also via the infamous Bristed Stream only navigable in low flows, thence Half Moon Saddle and Hanging Valley. The HV track is very well marked but has a lot of windfall in the upper section, neccessitating a diversion from the overgrown with regen track at times.
