Mt. Hikurangi Hut
A very rustic hut situated on the slopes of Mt. Hikurangi which sleeps 6-10 people. Pretty chilly in cold weather even with the stove going full blast.

Getting there

The start of the track is located on Pahikiroa Station, which is at the end of Tapuaeroa Valley Road, 20 kilometres inland from Ruatoria. There is public access from the Tapuaeroa Valley to the mountain, via Pakihiroa Station which is owned and operated by Te Runanga o Ngati Porou.
