Te Puia Lodge
Kaweka Forest Park
Only 2-3 hours from the Makahu road end and Makatutu Hot Springs and 45 mins from the Mangatainoka Hot Springs on the true right of the River. This hut is in pretty good shape, sitting directly on the Mohaka River, which is known for it's excellent trout fishery. Blue Ducks (Whio) are observable on the river. Land across the river is privately owned, as is that past the Mangatainoka Hot Springs.
