A traditional forestry bivvy that has braved many a Tasman Sea storm, on an exposed ridge top above the Mikonui Valley, Westland. Sound condition. No mattresses. Water supply from nearby tarn.

The easiest route is up the spur from the Mikonui Dickson Rivers confluence. The track is a bit overgrown but there are enough markers most of the way. The subalpine section is a bit of a grovel. I hear DOC are going to recut the track soon.
