Dillon's Homestead(historic) (5 beds, fireplace, tank & stream water, fiirewood available) is a well built, well restored hut in the mid Taipo Valley and at the base of the crossing from Otira via Kelly Saddle. The hut is comfortable, and has plenty of character - unlike the faceless modern tramping hut 1km upstream. This was the former residence of Mr and Mrs Dillon who farmed and gold-mined in the area.
