Lake Man Bivouac
Lake Sumner Conservation Park
Lake Man Bivouac (2 bunk, no fire, stream water) is a basic bivouac 50m below the bushline near the head of the Kedron Valley. This lies on the Doubtful valley side of the Lake Man Pass to the Hope via Pussy Stream. The fireplace has been removed since the earlier photo was taken - another victim of the DOC fireplace cullers!
The hut makes a convenient (but cold) break on the Doubtful valley to Hope valley crossing via Lake Man Pass. It also is a good base to explore the nearby tops and for the ascent to Lake Man - strongly recommended by many hut book entries, though the ascent can retain snow until late into the year.
