Hope Arm Hut

Fiordland National Park

Hope Arm Hut is nestled behind the sandy shores of Hope Arm, Lake Manapouri. An amazing spot with great a campsite and a beautiful secluded beach, but the area is a haven for sandflies, which will nearly drain all of the blood from your body. The hut is also home to many mice pitter-patting in the ceiling lining. You can see them poke their heads out as the scent of your pasta wafts through the hut. If you set the mouse trap you are guaranteed to have it snap shut within fifteen minutes. An ace location for basing yourself to attempt the many day walks around the area, as lon as you have a strong insect repellant!
