New hut opened in April 2010. A well sited and busy hut next to a lake in an alpine landscape. Associated camping area has 10 sites. Bookings are required from October to April.

5-7 hours from the Mt. Robert carpark (along the Robert Ridge), about 7 hours from the carpark via Speargrass Hut, 6 hours up steeply from Lakehead Hut and 5 untracked hours over Sunset Saddle from Hopeless Hut. |
