Te Kumi Flat tent camp
Raukumara Forest Park
A tent camp on Te Kumi Flat in the Raukokore River int he Raukumara Range.
This is a privately built camp, but built on DOC land. It's by far the best built tent camp I've seen, and is worth a look. Features a kitchen/dining with fireplace, and a separate sleeping shelter. Flat spots for further tents have been cleared on the forest floor around the site.
Tucked in native bush at the south end of Te Kumi flat on the east bank of the Raukokore.
Note that the nearby Green Hut (shown on maps) is long-gone and only a few guy-ropes remain.
