Oamaru to Cascade Hut via Maungaorangi

Camped in the Oamaru by the Ruatea Stream. From here it took me 10:20 hours through to Cascade Hut (8 hours from Boyd turnoff). From the summit of Maungaorangi it was still almost 3 hours to the hut. The track is marked but lots of beech debris and not much of a worn track for a lot of the way. Hard yakka. | |

Walked clements-cascade-oamaru/boyd junction-oamaru-clements, in a 17 person group so were quite slow | |
