A super tramp with so much variety, and so quiet. Loved it. Must have walked it after an unusually extended dry spell, as there was little mud. Had great weather, only downer was not getting a view from Mount Anglem, then seeing it out of cloud later in the day. I took a late water taxi to Freshwater Hut and then walked clockwise taking further 6 days. | |

Absolutely loved it! Yes it's muddy, but as long as you are prepared it's not a problem. Found the DOC times to be a bit inconsistent. Some days we took longer other days we were well under. Pays to check tides before setting off. Mt Anglem is a lot rougher and muddier than most of the rest of the circuit.
