One time we camped at a saddle near a stream and went over Patutu and climbed Mt Batty. If you thought Patutu was a bit grovelly, well, check out the way to Mt Batty. Very steep and loose scoria-type footing. Then we went over Balance Rock to Jacob's Ladder and then back to the start of the track. On the way there were plenty of goats and a few deer on the scrubby ridges. |
