Wairere Falls Track closures
We are upgrading multiple structures along the Wairere Falls Track. The track will be closed from Mondays to Fridays until approximately June 2024. This is for the public safety and to allow the contractors to carry out their work safely. The track will be open to the public for weekend use. If the track needs to be closed for scheduled weekend work we will update this alert. This closure will also affect track users wanting to access the Wairere Falls Track from the North-South Track. Crown Tramway Track partial closure
The Crown Tramway from Ohinemuri Bridge is closed due to large landslips. DOC is exploring options to mitigate these risks. We will update timeframes once we have more information. Dickey Flat Campground can be accessed from Karangahake/Ohinemuri carpark via the Windows Walk and the Crown track/pipeline walk. First published on 13 September 2022.
