Red Hills area aerial wilding control
As part of the National Wilding Conifer Control Programme, PF Olsen as agent to Tasman District Council will be undertaking Wilding Conifer control from a helicopter over a large part of the Red Hills area, until 10 August 2021.
The herbicide ‘Grazon’ (active ingredient triclopyr) mixed with bio diesel will be delivered from a hovering helicopter directly to the top of individual wilding conifer trees. The herbicide delivery is targeted at individual trees through a hand-held lance at low pressure and it is unlikely that any person on the ground at the time of the operation would be in contact with the herbicide.
Avoid leaving tracks in this area However, the application of herbicide will not be applied within 50 m of any public walking track.First published on 12 July 2021.
