Waitawheta Tramway suspension bridge closure
Due to Cyclone Gabrielle the suspension bridge on the Tramway is damaged and is closed. It is about 4 km from the start of the track. A river crossing is now in place.The water levels in the river crossings can rise quickly and are swift flowing in high rainfall and severe weather events.
