This picture taken from Gables End looks down at Kowhai Saddle and beyond to Mt Manakau 2608m which has its symmetrical summit hidden by cloud. Kowhai Saddle links the Kowhai and Hapuku Rivers. You can get to Mt Fyffe from the saddle by climbing on to the tops and heading south. For those unfamiliar with the area concerned it is part of the Seaward Kaikoura Range a little north of Kaikoura township.
