From the car park, a boardwalk leads across a wetland of wire rush. Listen for fernbirds here. Manuka bushes edge forest. The track climbs gently behind them to a low viewpoint over the wetland. From here, longer tracks continue on to the trig and to Three Mile Lagoon.
