Waiomu Kauri Grove

From the road end, follow the true right bank of the creek on a vehicle track. After ten minutes, the trail leaves the vehicle track behind at some interpretation panels and enters regenerating bush. Over a creek, the track soon comes to a junction leading to the Monowai Battery site. It is a 10-minute detour across a creek to the site. 

Further uphill, the track passes an adit (horizontal tunnel) and then zig zags up the creek, finally coming to a set of stairs that lead through the kauri grove.
