This tiny pocket of coastal forest is all that remains after extensive logging for the Mananui Sawmill, which worked from about 1885 to 1958. The track starts with tall forest, soon leading into harakeke and wind-sculpted mahoe trees. The walk is short and easy, providing access to a wild and handsome beach.
