Probably at about 1000m here, 500m above Aspiring Flats visible below. We faffed around somewhere near here and lost a couple of hundred metres and nearly an hour because we had taken the route too high, and ended up in some craggy spots that just weren't taking us where we wanted to go. Dropping back down, we bore more to our right, and continued up, reaching Wilmot Saddle (1682m) three hours later.
