Walter Peak is the prominent peak on the other side of Lake Wakatipu, where the Earnslaw boat goes. There is no track and towards the end it's quite a scramble.

There is no proper track but most of the terrain is easy to navigate - tussocks and rocky outcrops.

For experienced trampers only. The terrain is very steep and towards the end it's more like climbing than tramping.
