A pleasant 6-bunk hut looking across the mid reaches of the Pohongina to a large grassy slip. An hour or two of wading upriver from Mid Pohongina Hut, and 3-6 hours of similarly wet-feet-tramping from Leon Kinvig. A brand-new DoC signpost outside says Piripiri Hut 3 hours - which have to be the most optimistic DoC hours I've yet to meet. I'd generally divide DoC times by two, but would be pushed to even equal that one.
