Still being used,this hut book at Gerhardt Biv,near the Hokitika Gorge,is a glimpse into the past,to an organisation responsible for a lot of bivs & huts that we still use today.All pre 1980s or DOC.Gerhardt is a wee gem;bit of grunt involved but views to Africa when the music stops.Sunsets supreme.Use `em or lose `em,these more remote huts/bivs need our help(www.remotehuts.co.nz)or they`ll suffer from demolition by neglect.Magic spot.
