From Pukekohatu looking South along the Kaimai Range
Kaimai-Mamaku Forest Park
The track follows the old North South Track for a short distance. The rest of the route south from here is overgrown and muddy. Better to take the Waipapa Track which goes down to Waitawheta Hut

chocs Did a Wairongomai, the above mentioned old North South track, Pylon track loop twice over summer this year. North South track is overgrown but well marked and makes for a good loop from Wairongomai
