At the bottom of the track, this sign remembers conditions from several years ago – DOC cleared the track in Nov 2010. Stinging nettle and lawyer vine threaten to encroach on the bottom third but , otherwise, it’s a straight-forward climb to the tree-line (albeit steep and unrelenting). From there to the Baton Saddle is a push through Spaniard grass and a sidle across snow grass. Apr 2011
