This small old farm dwelling is on the TR of the Mikonui flats & is referred to as "The Old Homestead" or "Timperley's"

It was used by cullers for a period before the building of Mikonui Flat hut. It is a private building and is locked. The marked route to Mikonui Flat hut goes past it.

It is tramping companion JH in the photo. The valley in the background is the Tuke.
