Belmont Regional Park
A forested plateau between Lower Hutt and Porirua Harbour. The park is managed by the Greater Wellington Regional Council.

Belmont Regional Park offers a variety of day walks within easy access from Wellington. The park is accessible off SH2 or by train on the Hutt Valley Line. Aside from walking, mountain biking and horse riding trails are available. Some areas are open to dogs. Picnic areas are established at Korokoro Dam, Baked Beans Bend, Stratton Street, and Dry Creek. Camping is available at Stratton Street and Dry Creek but must be booked in advance.

Farmland within the park is closed for lambing August to October.
