Where would be without all those NZ Forest Service six-bunk huts in the Tararuas & Ruahines? Maybe that deer explosion and subsequent culling programme in the sixties did have an upside. This one is Otukota Hut in the Ruahines. It still has a politically-incorrect open fire.

  • john dutchie john dutchie Yeah i love these sort of huts.Ones like Cow Creek,Top Maropea,Cattle Ridge etc,have a vibe that a lot of modern huts dont have.
